Traffic Laws in K.S.A.

It is natural that we have car accidents as long as we still driving. However, the huge number of car accidents increasing made government thinking how to solve this problem. In Saudi Arabia, the government worked hardly legislating new laws to make RTAs less than before. The government start implementing new speed cameras technology which is a new system called " Saher " .

Saher is a high sophisticated control system exists in the main cities in K.S.A. ( What is Saher,2011 ). The other cities will be coverd by Saher only if this system acieve the objectives of this project. One of its objectives is to make drivers not to break any of traffic regulations.If s/he does, s/he will be fined with 500 S.R minimum ; and must be paid within 30 days otherwise it will be doubled monthly ( Naeem, Nov 2010, P.3 ) .

Actually, beside drivers became more responsible while driving, Saher played a big role in decreasing the number of lives loss. For example, in the eastern province, mortalities

get better grades resulting from RTAs has been reduced with 18.9 % ( Az-Zahrani, Feb 15, 2011 ). In addition, Saher has contributed decreasing the percentage of mortalities to 23 % comparing to the number of lives loss between 1430-1431 A.H ( Al-Moqbil, Feb 23, 2011 ). Of course, this statistics make us happy because Saher start saving our souls which is a noble objective.

To conclude, Saudi government does whatever it takes to not lose any soul as a consequence of car accident. It established one of the most successful project with a strict laws. I can say that if we keep implementing this system, we will gain more impressive results which may foster achieving Saher objectives.
