Realism: An artistic movement attempts to imitate reality and represent it. Realism is the defining characteristic, which differentiates the work of the early 18-century novelist from previous faction and considered as the antonym of idealism.


Novel: it is a form of literature, which most fully reflects this individualist and innovating reorientation; the usage of the term "novel" was not fully established until the end of the 18 century.


Plot: is the order of events in a story.


Setting: is the time or place where the story takes place.


Colonialism: it is the idea of invading other countries, to get economy benefits and political authority


Original: previously mint "independent, first hand " by time the word is used as a term of praise meaning" novel " or fresh in character or style .


Verisimilitude: is art's attempt to imitate reality.


Individualism: it is the belief in the importance of independent thought or action of the individual, and in the virtues of self-reliance and personal independence.


Romanticism: is an artistic movement that started during the seventeenth century as a reaction to the increasing industrialization of Europe and the way economy, science and rationalism seemed to dominate the world. A movement that wanted to get back to nature "harmony with nature" and emotional expression and looking at childhood as a source of inspiration, that is how we moved from the adjective childish to childlike.


Capitalism: The condition of possessing capital — the original principal of an individual, company, or corporation, which provide the basis for financial and economic operations. The term capitalism also describes an ideology, which favors the existence of capitalists (individuals who accumulate capital, which then becomes available for investment in financial or industrial enterprises)
