هذا ملخص مفيد جدا
Lane 331
Why do we need research?
When do we need the research?
When do we undertake research?
-when we wish to explore an idea
When we wish to investigate an issue-
When we want to solve a problem-
-If we want to make an argument that compels us to turn to outside help
Define the term research paper?
-The term research paper describes a presentation of student research that maybe in a printed, an electronic, or a multimedia format. (Page 2)
-a research paper is a form of written communication. Like other non-fictional writing, it should present information and ideas clearly and effectively
What are the types of research?
The research paper is generally based on...
*primary research: which is the study of a subject through firsthand observation and investigation, Such as analyzing a literary or historical text.
*secondary research: which is the examination of studies that other researchers have made of a subject.
*combination of the two types the primary and the secondary research
Give examples of the primary and secondary research?
-The primary source includes statistical data, historical documents, and works of literature or art.
-The secondary research sources are the books and articles about political issues, historical events…etc

Combining the research and the original ideas is important, explain.
What are the benefits of doing a research?
Research increases your knowledge and understanding of a subject-
Research will confirm your ideas and opinions-
Sometimes it will challenge and modify your opinions-
It helps to shape your thinking-
True and false
-A research paper should not merely review publications and extract a series of quotations from them. (T)
-in the research you should look for sources that provide new information, that help fully survey the various positions already taken on a specific subject. (T)
-the process of researching and writing a research paper follows a fixed pattern. (F)
the truth is that different paths can lead to a successful research papers
What is the main purpose of the research?
The main purpose of the research is not to summarize the work of others but to assimilate and to build on it and to arrive at your own understanding of the subject.
Although there are different ways in writing a research, there are activities that nearly all writers of research papers perform. What are they?

-conducting research

The documentation should only support your statement and provide concise information about the sources cited
*As you choose a topic remember the time allotted to you and the expected length of the research paper
*When looking for a topic, begin with a general topic and the refine it by thought and research
You can narrow your topic by focusing on an aspect or an approach to it*
