1st: Writing Assessment

Writing Assessment will consist of the following tasks:

1-Use of linking words / relative pronouns (8 marks)
(but/however/because /while / during / for / who / which / where)

Workbook :

Page 14 -> exercise 12 (linking words)

Page 20 -> exercise 11 (linking words)

Page 37 -> exercise 10 (relative clauses)

Page 41 -> exercise 10 (relative clauses)

2- Paragraph (12 marks)

You have to write a paragraph ( at least 7 sentences) about a given topic similar to what you’ve done in the book/workbook. Make sure you know how to write:

1- An informal letter (workbook page 9) + the layout that I gave you


2- A deive paragraph - describing a person + describing a place (workbook page 15 + 37) + the layout that I gave you.


4- A story - personal narrative (workbook page 21) + the layout that I gave you


5- A postcard (workbook page 32) + find attached the layout of the postcard


Make sure you know:


· basic paragraph format (indentation, sentences written together in a paragraph, not on separate lines)

· how to write a clear topic sentence

· how to use linking works to make their paragraphs cohesive


Total points for paragraph: 12

Off-topic paragraph: Student loses half the mark (12÷2=6)
