subject : the poem talks about a man comforting his friend and advice him ,after he becomes ill and pale because a girl he loves and she does not love him back

theme : is unrequited love , the poet tries to tell us that if we love someone who does not love you back then you should leave him and try to have someone else .


is easy to understand ,it is a clear language since the poet talk to his friend language :
The poet suckling does not use imagery in this poem but he used sound devices such as alliteration in first stanza ,
why so pale and wan …? Prithee why so pale? Will,

and we found anaphora in
( quit, quit for shame …

Narrator : is a man advising his friend in monologue

Tone : is strictness and adviser which fits with the theme of the poem .

Structure : 3 verses , 5 lines each ,with a rhyme scheme ababb ,cdcdd ,efeff
He starts with advising his friend with a nice comforting tone ,and end with scolding him with stern words and a simple solution that if she doesn't love you then leave her and found some one else who deserve you
