المحاضره الثالثه

بدأ الدكتور بشرح قصيدة

That time of year thou mayst in me behold,

When yellow leaves, or none, or few do hang

Upon those boughs which shake against the cold,

Bare ruined choirs where late the sweet birds sang.

In me thou see'st the twilight of such day

As after sunset fadeth in the west,

Which by and by black night doth take away,

Death's second self that seals up all in rest.

In me thou see'st the glowing of such fire

That on the ashes of his youth doth lie

As the death-bed whereon it must expire,

Consumed with that which it was nourished by.
This thou perceiv'st, which makes thy love more strong,
To love that well which thou must leave ere long.


في هذه القصيده الشاعر يخاطب صديقه


What happens in the winter?

Winter is the time when the trees dropped the leaves
The winter causes the leaves to fall down

In the spring the trees begin to blossom again

انه في الشتاء تسقط الأوراق وتصب الأشجار عاريه وتبدأ الطيور بالرحيل بحثا عن مكان آآخر ,,,, وعندما يحل الربيع تعود الطيور مره اخرى


Sanctuary == > ملجأ
Twilight ==> الغسق

ولو نلاحظ ان
each stanza contains 4 lines
والشاعر بدأ القصيده بمخاطبة صديقه وأخباره عن تغير الفصول والذي يستغرق من 3 الى 4 اشهر
ومن هذا البيت
In me thou see'st the twilight of such day

بدأ الشاعر بتصوير التغير اليومي
وكيف ان الظوء يسيطر على الظلام

What does( darkness Surround of the entire universe)
mean ?

ثم سأل الدكتور عن معنى البيت هذا
Death's second self that seals up all in rest
وذكر ان المقصود به هو النوم ( الموتى الصغرى )


In me thou see'st the glowing of such fire
شبه الشاعر نفسه بتوهج النار وكلنا نعرف ان شبة النار تحتاج الى حطب وانه كلما اكلت الحطب انها تحتاج الى مزيد من الحطب والا ستطفي

What does the glowing of the fire remind you ?

وهج النار يذكرنا بالعنفوان والشباب تبدأ بقوه ثم تقل مع كبر السن . ولكي تبقيها متوهجه تحتاج الى حطب
والنار ستأكل ثم تأكل وهذا فيه تصوير لحياة الأنسان من الطفوله الى الشباب الى العجز

WHILE my hair was still cut straight across my forehead
I played about the front gate, pulling flowers.
You came by on bamboo stilts, playing horse;
You walked about my seat, playing with blue plums.
And we went on living in the village of Chokan:
Two small people, without dislike or suspicion.

At fourteen I married My Lord you.
I never laughed, being bashful.
Lowering my head, I looked at the wall.
Called to, a thousand times, I never looked back.

At fifteen I stopped scowling,
I desired my dust to be mingled with yours
Forever and forever, and forever.
Why should I climb the look-out?

At sixteen you departed,
You went into far Ku-to-Yen, by the river of swirling eddies,
And you have been gone five months.
The monkeys make sorrowful noise overhead.
You dragged your feet when you went out.
By the gate now, the moss is grown, the different mosses,
Too deep to clear them away!
The leaves fall early this autumn, in wind.
The paired butterflies are already yellow with August
Over the grass in the west garden—
They hurt me.
I grow older.
If you are coming down through the narrows of the river,
Please let me know beforehand,
And I will come out to meet you, As far as Cho-fu-Sa.


Forehead == > مقدمة الراس ( الجبهه ) والمقصود من هذا البيت هي الغره او القصه اللي يسونها البنات الصغار لما يحطون غره وهذا فيه دلاله على انها ما زالت صغيره
We know she was a young girl still from the way her hair was cut straight a cross the forehead.

I played about the front gate ==> كانت تلعب مقابل الباب وهذا فيه دلاله على صغر سنها لانها تلعب امام الباب فلم تذهب بعيد
We know she was a young girl because she used to play in front of the door ( gate )

pulling flowers ==> is feminine activity
هل يوجد في القصيده ما يبين النشاط الذكري والنشاط الأنثوي ؟
كما نلاحظ انه في هذا المقطع البنت هي اللي تتحدث وكأنها لوحدها
Do you find (sense) anybody else ?
هل شعرت ان هناك شخص اخر
We == > mean somebody else and she addressed somebody

playing horse ==> Masculine activity

on bamboo stilts == > اشياء توضع تحت الأقدام

how does the stanza end ?


في المقطع الأول تركيز الشاعره على برائة الطفوله
At fourteen I married My Lord you
Fourteen ==> the age of puberty and adolescence


What is the initial response in the (At fourteen I married My Lord you) ?

She was too young to be wife
She married too young .

My Lord you ==> may he older than her ,,, Sign of respect ==> وهذا فيه دلاله على الأحترام

I never laughed == > mean she was serious
Bashful ==> good thing ( خجوله ومحتشمه )
Lowering my head == > sign of respect
I looked at the wall ==> من الخجل وربما تدل على ان نظرتها للحياه دون خبره فهي تحتمل التفسيرين
هذه القصيده تبين مدى ارتباط المرأه بزوجها وهذه القصيده وضعت تحت
Poem as powerful expression of feelings.

You dragged your feet when you went out == > you have to go but you don’t want to leave ( obligation )
But you know if you stay you will lose business or money


By the gate now, the moss is grown, the different mosses,
فيه دلاله على الأهمال
Too deep to clear them away!\
فيه دلاله على طول فتره الأهمال الى درجه انها بلغت درجة كبيره من التشابك والكثافه والعمق
ثم سأل


How does the poem end ?

وبكذا انتهت المحاضره

وذكر انه ربما يأتي بأخطاء قواعديه في بعض القصائد ويسأل عن السبب مثل

والأجابه لأن في الشعر يجوز الحذف
