Why do we teach a poetry? ( لماذا ندرس الشعر )

One way to teach the Language
To be positive
It's a new approach to teach the Language
You get the taste of the Language and the poetry
To share the concepts
The poetry is contains the overflow of emotions
Poetry bring people together

ثم بدأ الدكتور بشرح قصيده

Leningrad Cemetery : Winter of 1941

عن الحصار ( siege
وذكر

Live triumphs over death.
There are no enough graves to buried the dead.
the hand a stretch out==>> symbolic.
the life is stronger than the death.
the poet send a different message ??
the desire return back.
The courage is the ability to face the problems in your life.
This poem began with the dark life and end with the bright life.
The poem send message to us ==>> we must never give up.


ثم انتقل الدكتور لشرح قصيده (Africa


Thus she had lain
Sugar cane sweet
deserts her hair
golden her feet
mountains her breasts
two Niles her tears.
Thus she has lain
Black through the years.


Sugar cane (قصب السكر )
وسأل لماذا اختار الشاعر قصب السكر
Why does poet choose a sugar cane?
وكانت الاجابه لوفرته في افريقيا
ونلاحظ في هذا المقطع تشبيهه افريقيا بالفتاه
وتكراره
Her
اشاره الى افريقيا وذكر الشعر والقدم والصدر
She refer to Africa by (her)


It began by describe Africa
Africa is a big container
ثم سأل

Why does she choose golden?
ثم ذكر الجماليه في ذكر
golden her feet
وقال
Under the feet you don't need to look for it.

ثم ذكر الجماليه في ذكر
two Niles her tears.
وقال ان الأنهار تجري في افريقا مثل الدموع من الافريقين
وكأن الشاعره تريد ان تقول ان الافريقين مرو بألم

Torture = أظطهاد

She wants to say ==>> African people go through pains.
How much they torture.
She imagines their suffer
They have gone through difficult time


mountains her breasts

Black through the years.

She focus in the color of Africa.
Black is one of the features of Africa
This is one of the characteristics to distinguish features.
why she attention to the black color?
Because this is one of the features of Africa and nothing to be shameful.

To proud of her color

Over the white seas
rime white and cold
brigands un gentled
icicle bold
took her young daughters
sold her strong sons
churched her with Jesus
bled her with guns.
Thus she has lain.


In this stanza the poem is changed .
It different from the first stanza

white seas ==>> refer to white people
to European sealer
طبعا هنا تتحدث الشاعره عن الأوربين البحاره الذين قدموا الى افريقيا


cold ==>> refer to non sensitive
they lack to human emotions and feelings
they are selfish
طبعا هنا تتحدث الشاعره عن الاوربين وانهم بدون احساس وانهم انانين وفاقدين للمشاعر الأنسانيه

قطاع طريق ) ) brigands ==>> she send message she doesn't deceive
She covered the mask
They came for selfish reasons
من خلال استخدامها لكملة قطاعين الطرق هناك اشاره واظحه من قبل الشاعره انها لم تخدع بما يقولونه الاوربين لما قدموا الى افريقيا وانهم قدموا من اجل الأكتشاف والأثاره والنزهه.

Un gentled ==>> لتأكيد المعنى

What they have done? They = European

1- took her young daughters
2- sold her strong sons


churched (V) ==>> they build church , that's mean they use the religion in bad way.
They use the religion as a mask.
They said they come to spread the Christian



The poet told them she knew the reality.
المقصود من هذا الكلام انهم بنوا الكنائس لأهداف اخرى وتظاهروا بالدين لأغراض اخرى والشاعره ارادت ان تخبرهم انها عارفه للحقيقه ولم تنطوي عليها هذه الألاعيب والأقنعه .

bled her with guns ==>> تدل على نقد ما بعد الأستعمار
عنما يعبر المستعمر عن رأية
chaos= فوضى

كما نلاحظ ان المقطع الثاني يتكلم عن الماضي

Second stanza talks about the past.



Now she is rising
remember her pain
remember the losses
her screams loud and vain
remember her riches
her history slain
now she is striding
although she has lain.

Now ==>> talk about the present and the future.


Rising ==>> very positive sign

Remember ==>> Why the poet wants to remind them of the past when she used th word ( remember ) ?

To told them the Past is never gone.

وتذكر الماضي من الام واحزان هو الذي يعطينا دفعه للأمام
ولكي تخبرهم ان الموروث لا ينسى

Write down the things she remembered?

Riches , history slain


Striding ==>> تخطوا step
