الصفحات 10-11-12 تتكلم موضوع مرة مهم
اللي هو Hierarical structure بس هالمرة من ناحية النحوsyntax

: syntactic structuer: is analysinglinguistic expressions into their parts, identifying the categories of those constituents, and determining their functions

من المعروف انه الجمل تحتوي على كلمات
المهم في السنتاكس نشوف علاقة هالكلمات مع بعض
هل العلاقة بينهم direct or indirect
are they immediat parts of the sentence or not


عندنا مثال [4] في صفحة 10
لو جينا نشوف هالجملة من ايش تتكون؟؟
كلمات الجملة :: Old- Sam - sunbathed- beside -a- stream

الرسم الشجري لهذه الجملة الموجود في [5] يبين طريقة لتقسيم هالكلمات
لكن بدون تقسم الجملة لأجزائها الرئيسية
طبعا هذاالنوع من الرسم لايساعدنا في التحليل
it just tells us about the order of the wards, not about the relation between them , it not tells what are words that are groubed with each other
it is not describe the structure of the sentence

في الامثلة [6 و 7]
لما اتغير ترتيب نفس الكلمات في الجملة, اعطانا جمل خاطئة grammaticly
وهذا يدل على اهمية التركيب في الجملة
:: while sentence contain wards, they don't consist (just
of ) words

برضو الشابتر اتكلم عن الـ Tests
وهذه مرررة مهمة وارح نستخدمها كثيير
Tests (proofs) for structure

1-replacement /substitution

It's possible to replace a constituent with a single word having THE SAME MEANING as that constituent

example:

I was reading a book

I was readingit

BOOk IT

the meaning of the sentence doesn't change

SO (a book) is a phrase

2- deletion

we can delete the constituent without break the structure

3- movement

if some part of a sentence can be moved to other place, it is a constituent /phrase

I bought new clothe yesterday

, Yesterday, I bought new clothe

and there are other tests, but these above are the basic
