ثالث محاضرة عند الاستاذ الفاضل مروان الصائغ لمادة LANE 334 النحو ..



اليوم هو آخر يوم في الاسبوع الاول من الدورهـ ..

بداء الاستاذ من صفحة 37 وتحديداً The verb phrase

حيث أن هناك 6 تصنيفات للفعل ..وهي
1- TRANSITIVE
2- INTRANSITIVE
3- DITRANSITIVE
4- INTENSIVE
5-COMPLEX-TRANSITIVE
6- PREPOSITIONAL

وجميع تلك الاصناف تظهر مع عناصرها الاجبارية وماعدا ذلك فهي

لن تكون كامله.

Transitive Verb

لنقل مثلاً .. This girl likes that dog

The NP that dog was functioning as the direct object

of the verb likes and the verb likes was

Transitive Verb

we can't say .. This girl likes ..

there are many Transitive Verbs like

Kate hugged the baby
The doh found the bone
Jenny hit him

and so on

Intransitive Verb

وهنا نجد العكس تماما ..

The Intransitive Verb does not take an object

Ken snores
The baby cried
She moved

and so on

Ditransitive Verb

وهنا Di تعني إثنان ...أي أن هذا النوع من الافعال يحتاج الى مفعولين

one is direct object (D.O) and the other one is indirect
(object (I.O

Ray told the children a story

Intensive Verb

sometimes referred to relational , linking or copular
belong to a small group which include verbs like

seem , appear , become , look and so on

Sally became a doctor
Sue seems unhappy

so in that examples what is given after the verb relates back to the subject describing their states

Complex-transitive Verb

The voters elected Mary president

Prepositional Verb

This class of verbs needs a prepositional phrase
to be complete

verbs like lean , refer , fall into this class

Sally leant on the table

The children glanced at the pictures

so the function of that phrase (prepositional phrase) will be prepositional object ... PO

والان أتينا لنوع جديد من الافعال وهو ما يسمى Imperative

which used to give commands or instructions

Close the door
Beat the eggs lightly
