The phonetics basis of phonology

Phonetics // studies the physical aspect of speech sound

Phonology // studies system and patterns that arrange the use and distribution of the sounds

Phoneme// is the unit of phonological analysis. It is the smallest meaningless sound unit . It is a unit in the sense that it is composed of a group of sounds that show some differences and yet they all belong to the same speech
sounds or segment these sounds are called allophones.

Allophones // occur in complementary distributions each has its own position that is not be shared by the other allophones with phonological system
