One common reason why people take time off work is stress, which may be caused by the company’s management style or bad relationships between colleagues. In these cases, absenteeism rates can be improved by better management training and company policies, which promote respect. Another way to solve the absenteeism problem involves rewarding the employees who have good attendance records .For example, giving an extra day’s holiday to all employees who take no days off sick during the year. Another example is to offer a prize to the employee with the best attendance rate like a gold pendant or a one-day salary.
In my opinion, the most successful way to solve the absenteeism problem is by understanding why the employees take days off sick not by ignoring it or by using aggressive policies.
