The following sample questions are study guides. Please note that these are only samples.
Other types/styles questions will be used in the final examination. Short story and Drama: You might have some questions based on details or information from the texts.
Discuss how the author uses irony in his/her story. In which point of view is the story told?
What do we learn about the narrator from the story?
What is the significance of the title? How is connected to the story?
Describe the setting of the story/play. How does it relate to the plot of the story?
What is the theme of the story?
What symbols are used in the story? What do they mean? How do they connect to the main theme?
Discuss the character of ….

Poetry:
You might have some questions based on details or information from the poems. Analyze the poem. Use STILTS = (Subject – Theme – Imagery – Language – Tone – Structure) and include your opinion of the poem.
Identify the imagery (e. g. figurative language) used in the poem.e.g. ―O my Luve‘s like a red, red rose,‖ Simile What is the theme of the poem?
Who is the narrator (speaker)? What is he/she trying to say?
