The city of Taif, which belongs to Mecca province in Saudi Arabia, is located on the mountain of Ghazwan. It is approximately an hour drive away from Mecca. The beautiful views of its nature and its wonderful weather recommend it to be the capital of summer in Saudi Arabia. The population of Taif as estimated by the Department of Statistics is around 885,000 people with 82% Saudis. Its area is roughly 175 square kilometers. Hence it is considered as one of the major Saudi cities in terms of population and area.

History of Taif
Taif is known as the second arabic city after Mecca. Historically, people are still debating that Taif was found before the birth of prophet Jesus (Isa) while others are claiming that it was even before the prphet Ibraham (Ibrahim) . However, it is believed that Taif is one of the oldest cities in the world. Moreover, it is very popular to come across the name of Taif while you're reading in any book talking about the history of the Arabian Peninsula
