It was founded in 1967 for the dissemination of science in the Western Region . The university started its first year in 1968 . The number of students was few . Today, the number of students are more than 50000 students . The university evolved in a short period. It is very wide . It is the second largest university in Saudi Arabia and the fourth largest in the middle east . There are many colleges for example Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Sciences. most students prefer the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Engineering . University has a sports stadium and equestrian club . University has more than 50 buildings . There are the many doctors from different countries . The University has more than 100 specialty . Dr. Osama Sadiq Tayeb is the director of King Abdulaziz University . The University has 9 deanships For example Deanship of Students' Affairs and Deanship of Graduate Studies .The bonuses are distribute to students each month. There are branches of the University outside Jeddah . There is a website for the University . The University has many students from outside Jeddah .
